Season's greetings

from the team of the IOER

We would like to thank all those who joined us in 2023 in researching the relevant issues of the time, as well as all those who funded our work or supported it through various services.

We wish all a peaceful and relaxing holiday, a good start into the New Year. We’re looking forward to further joint projects and successes in 2024.

Our motif: Urban greenery in 3D – with an award-winning data set of the IOER

As we have done for several years now, we are not sending out analog greeting cards for reasons of sustainability.
Instead, we send greetings digitally with a motif from our research:
With the data set Canopy Height Model Dresden 2017, we make the height of all tree crowns in a city, the "green volume", visible and measurable. The data set is freely accessible and usable. Markus Münzinger, research associate at the IOER, developed it. He won first place with the data set in the SaxFDM FAIRest Data Award 2023 competition.
