Meine Arbeit befasst sich mit der Dynamik von städtischem und regionalem Wandel sowie den Theorien, Strategien und Ansätzen für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit gilt dabei Innovationen in Bezug auf Governance, Politikinstrumente, Planung und Design, die tiefgreifenden Wandel ermöglichen. Die verschiedenen sozial-ökologischen und soziotechnischen Systeme, die sich im Siedlungsbereich überlagern, sind dabei von ebenso zentraler Bedeutung wie alle Faktoren, durch welche maßstabsübergreifende Transformationen forciert oder verhindert werden.
