Juliane Albrecht appointed honorary professor at the HTW Dresden

Dr Juliane Albrecht from the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) is the new honorary professor of environmental and planning law at HTW Dresden – University of Applied Sciences. On 10 June, Rector Professor Ingo Gestring presented her with the certificate of appointment. The university is thus honouring the scientist's many years of teaching and the existing professional collaboration.

With effect from 10 June, the HTW Dresden Senate has appointed Juliane Albrecht as an honorary professor at the Faculty of Agriculture/Environment/Chemistry. She has been teaching on the HTWD's Master's degree programme in Landscape Development since the 2018/19 winter semester and enriches HTW Dresden with her expertise.

Juliane Albrecht has a doctorate in law. She has been working at the IOER as a research associate and project leader since 2005. As an expert in European environmental and planning law, her research interests include adaptation to climate change and the legal framework for the protection of biodiversity. Her most recent research project deals with the options for the design and implementation of a national heat action plan for Germany. Moreover, Juliane Albrecht is one of two ombudspersons for safeguarding good scientific practice at IOER.

Professor Marc Wolfram, Director of the IOER, congratulates Juliane Albrecht on her new role: “We are delighted about this special recognition for Juliane Albrecht and her outstanding expertise in environmental law at the IOER. Her appointment also strengthens our links with Dresden's universities and the IOER's contribution to scientific qualifications in the field of sustainable spatial development”.
