In addition to the IOER Monitor, the IOER will also present the newly developed web app "meinGrün" during the "Week of the Environment". This application exemplifies how open geodata can be used practically and provide more quality of life. The meinGrün web app aims to describe green spaces in cities in more detail and show how they can be easily accessed. The web app helps to find those green spaces that best suit one's needs - for jogging, walking or visiting the playground, for example

Week of the Environment 2021 with extensive online programme
The "Week of the Environment" is an environmental fair hosted by the German Federal President and the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU). It has been held every four years in the park of Bellevue Palace in Berlin since 2002. Due to the Corona pandemic in 2021 (postponed from 2020) it will be held digitally in large parts. A jury appointed by the Office of the German Federal President has selected those projects for the environmental fair from more than 440 applications that stand out particularly for their quality, innovative potential and exemplary nature. The programme of the "Week of the Environment" with panel discussions and expert forums will be broadcast via live stream. After the opening by Federal President Frank-Walter Setinmeier on 10 June, 11 a.m., EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Climate Change Representative and former US Secretary of State John Kerry will speak.
