In the Research Area 'Landscape Change and Management' we investigate changes in cities and regions with a particular focus on open spaces and their ecosystem services, as well as strategies, tools and governance forms for influencing such change.

In the Research Area 'Landscape Change and Management':

  • Managing the Processes of Landscape Development by Actors and Public Agencies
    In this line of research we identify how landscape development is steered by influential factors within actor and governance-related planning. [more]
  • Instruments of Landscape Management and Biodiversity Offsets
    The research area "Landscape Change and Management" analyses the current state of instruments of landscape management, ecosystem services and biodiversity offsets in an international context and examines options to expand such instruments. [more]
  • Critical Review of Existing Open Space Models and the Development of new Models
    Here we reflect critically on existing open space models also in an urban context and develop new concepts and models for landscape management. [more]
