IOER presents its research at the Indo-German Forum "Cities and Climate"

On 16 and 17 March, the Indo-German Forum "Cities and Climate" will focus on the question of how cities can adapt to climate change. The IOER contributes to the forum in various ways. On the first day Prof Marc Wolfram, Director of the IOER, will speak in a session on "Climate Strategies for Cities". In addition, the IOER will present a selection of its research work at a virtual fair.

The annual Indo-German Forum of the DWIH New Delhi, to be held on 16 and 17 March 2021, will address the multifaceted topic of urbanisation and climate change. The interdisciplinary Forum will bring together about 35 scientists, decision-makers, and professionals mainly from India and Germany but also from Australia, the EU, South Africa, and South Asia. They will present research projects and analysis on the relationship of cities and climate. Among other things, the Forum will address the questions of how cities adapt to climate change and how urban settlements can minimise their environmental impacts.

The IOER will be involved in the Indo-German Forum in various ways. Prof Dr Marc Wolfram, Director of the IOER, will speak in Session 1.2 "Climate Strategies for Cities" on 16 March, 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon (CET).

Throughout the event there will also be the opportunity to visit a virtual fair. The IOER is organising one of the digital booths together with the Bureau of the Leibniz Association. Scientists from the IOER will present various research projects on the topic of climate change and urban development.
