Dresden Nexus Conference 2020:
"Circular Economy in a Sustainable Society" – Call for Abstracts open

The third edition of the Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC2020) will take place 3–5 June 2020 in the heart of Saxony. DNC is a collaborative effort organized by the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER), the United Nations University (UNU-FLORES), and the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden). The main theme of DNC2020 will be "Circular Economy in a Sustainable Society". Deadline for the submission of abstracts is 30 September 2019.

The Dresden Nexus Conference is an international conference series dedicated to advancing the Nexus Approach to resource management in research and implementation. DNC2020 aims to accelerate the transition to sustainability by focusing on how nexus thinking could support shaping a circular economy: What role does green infrastructure play for sustainable water management in a circular economy? How can urban agriculture ensure integrated natural resource management and socio-economic benefits? What implication does urbanisation have on building material induced land use, soil, water and waste in urban regions? Which systems’ concepts and economic policy instruments are suitable for achieving the transition towards circular economy and integrated resource management (Nexus approach)? These are just a few of the topics that the international conference DNC2020 will address in 16 different sessions. For more information, you can find the concept note here.

DNC is a one-of-a-kind event, bringing together actors from academia, civil society, industry, and government from all over the world to discuss the sustainable management of environmental resources in Dresden. By bringing together actors from a diverse range of disciplines and sectors, DNC fosters an open and critical dialogue on how nexus thinking contributes to achieving sustainable development for all. We invite contributions from any field related to the overall theme "Circular Economy in a Sustainable Society".

The organisers welcome abstract submissions for poster and oral presentations, as well as World Café tables. View the Call for Abstracts for more information.

The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2019.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and to welcoming you to Dresden in June 2020!
