Working Group Theoretical and Methodological Basics of Ecological Urban and Regional Development

The working group is an institution-wide platform for

  • exchange and reflection of theoretical and methodological concepts of ecological urban and regional development,
  • elaboration of contributions to the discussion of theories and methods as well as knowledge transfer with meaning across the research areas of the institute.

It involves one scientist from each research area of the institute. Further expertise is included as necessary.

Activities

During the years 2017 and 2018, particularly the following activities are carried out in co-operation with the research areas of the institute:

  • setup of an internal compilation of theoretical and methodological concepts of ecological urban and regional development as a means of knowledge management,
  • in-depth investigations especially on the topics human-environment systems of cities and regions, environmental crisis and Big Data methods,
  • application for and co-ordination of research projects on theoretical and methodological concepts of ecological urban and regional development with meaning across the research areas of the institute,
  • national and international networking referring to theoretical and methodological concepts of ecological urban and regional development with meaning across the research areas of the institute.

Regular meetings of the working group members, thematic workshops, IOER research fora, research projects, publications are the main formats of collaboration.
