The promotion of equal opportunities and the removal of gender specific disadvantages is not only required by law, but is also part of the self-identity of the Leibniz-Institut für ökologische Raumentwicklung (Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development).

  • implements equal opportunities on the basis of the agreement for promotion of equal opportunities *). At the same time this forms the basis for the work of the equal opportunities officers
  • is committed to implement the equality standards of the German Research Foundation (DFG)
  • has at its disposal a plan for equality which is updated at least every two years.
  • elects an equal opportunities officer and his/her deputy every four years who actively take part in the institute’s politics.
  • ensures a balanced gender ratio during staffing and junior staff development.
  • enables staggered working hours, working from home and is committed to family friendly meeting times.
  • supports its employees in individual solutions for compatibility of family and career/a work-family balance (including care of family members)
  • introduces networks for equal opportunities, promotion of women and dual careers.
  • analyzes in a project aspects of gender in research themes of the institute.
  • submits its initiatives and efforts for objective assessment and in 2018 was awarded the Total E-Quality certificate for the third time, for the first time with the addition of Diversity.
