General Terms and Conditions (AGB) for IOER Events

  1. Registration is only possible online via the indicated website.
    • The required fields must be completed and the GTC accepted.
    • The organizer will send an email to confirm receipt of your registration data.
    • Events subject to a charge: The online registration is binding if the conference fee is paid to the specified account within 14 days of registration (or receipt of invoice). An email will be sent to confirm the binding booking of the event.
  2. Conference fees (if applicable) cover the services listed on the registration website.
    • Please indicate the short conference title and the name of the participant when completing the bank transfer.
    • If the conference fee is not transferred within the payment period, the participant’s place may be made available to other interested parties.
    • Relevant ID for the awarding of a discount must be shown at the latest when registering your arrival at the conference office.
  3. Withdrawal/cancellation/changes*
    • Withdrawal from conference participation must be declared in writing by email to the specified contact address. This also applies to conferences without participation fees.
    • Refund in the case of withdrawal (cancellation costs)
      • up to 6 weeks before the beginning of the event: 90% refund
      • up to 2 weeks before the event: 50% refund
      • less than 2 weeks before the event: no refund possible.
    • Persons, who have registered for a free of cost conference, and do not withdrawal on time or do not appear, can be charged an administrative fee.
    • Upon request, substitute persons may be named as participants in the event.
  4. The organizer will provide the offered services.
    • We reserve the right to make changes to the programme, to the list of speakers or named presentations as long as such changes do not significantly alter the overall character of the conference. Participants will be given timely notification of any such changes.*
  5. Copyright and other rights  
    • The participants agree that during the event the organizer may take photos or films or video recordings which can be published on the conference website or generally used in the context of the IOER public relations work.
    • Authors/speakers will always be asked individually for permission to make use of copyright protected materials, e.g. presentations (PPTX).
  6. Data protection
    • Personal data is used exclusively for the purpose of managing the event, e.g. to correspond or to draw up participant lists (names, institutions). No data will be passed on to third parties beyond that.
  7. Liability
    • The IOER assumes no liability for disruptions caused by circumstances beyond our control.
    • Likewise, the IOER assumes no liability for damages that arise when commuting to and from the venues, or for losses and accidents.
  8. Other
    • The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction is Dresden.
  9. *Corona measures
    • Officially decreed measures in response to virus epidemics such as COVID19 may jeopardize the holding of the event or require drastic organizational changes. We inform about the possible consequences for organizers and participants on the respective event website.
    • Participation in the in-person session is only possible if the applicable hygiene measures at the conference venue are observed.
