In the section Interactive Maps you can browse some examples of web-mapping
results of WP2. The internet presentations were prepared using ArcIMS 8.0.
This is also an example to show how data presentations of national park administrations
in the internet could look like.
Up to now there are two web-mapping presentations available:
The interactive map of the land use change
in the Saxon Switzerland shows five time series between 1785 and 1992.
At the moment only a part of the Saxon Switzerland can be displayed, however
it is intended to add further area slices. It is possible to view either laminar
(polygons) or linear land use elements. Furthermore queries of the data base
could be accomplished.
For the area of the Saxon Switzerland the recreation
value was calculated for five time series between 1785 and 1992. In the
western part the recreation value is decreasing during the time caused by
the pressure of settlement development.
The cross-border analysis of landscape
fragmentation in the Saxon-Bohemian
Switzerland was done for three time series between 1900 and 1992. The results
show that the size of unfragmented areas was reduced especially due to the construction of roads. The last large unfragmented areas are still remaining in the border area.
Guidance for using the interactive maps you find under Instructions.
