For the second time, the Leibniz Research Network Central and Eastern Europe is offering media professionals the opportunity to apply for a scholarship programme.
Following a successful launch last year, the Leibniz Research Network on Central and Eastern Europe is inviting media professionals to apply for the WRITE EAST scholarship programme for the second time. The programme offers participants the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into scientific topics and developments in Eastern Europe during a one-week stay at a research institute. The aim is to promote exchange between science and the media in the part of Europe that has been the focus of political and public attention, at least since Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
Applications can be submitted until 7 April 2026.
Read the detailed call for applications with all the information on the application requirements and general conditions of the scholarship.
As one of the potential host institutions, the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) in Dresden conducts research related to the topic of the WRITE EAST call, mainly in the field of structural change/coal phase-out in the tri-border region of Poland, Czechia and Germany.
