With its project idea "Architectural heritage and climate-friendly construction in Dresden" (Baukultur und klimafreundliche Architektur in Dresden), the IOER and its partners are among the finalists in the citizen science competition "Auf die Plätze! Citizen Science in your city". In October, it will be decided which three projects will receive the funding for implementation. Until 25 September, the project teams could collect public points via online voting.

The project "GiB_Raum – Gender Aspects in the View of Spatial Sustainability and Transformation Research" started at the IOER with a substantive exchange on topics of social justice, gender relations and socio-ecological transformations. Together with its lead partner, the ARL – Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association, the IOER is developing a strategy for systematically and permanently integrating gender aspects into the research structures and processes of both institutions.

Germany's landscapes are diverse and constantly changing. Growing cities, wind turbines and solar fields, high-voltage lines, new traffic routes, agricultural industry and increasing technology are changing the landscape faster and faster.
